SpadeClub Points and Token Buy Ins

April 2nd, 2009

This week I have once again qualified for spadeclub’s weekly $5k online poker prize pool. Spadeclub is a casino site based on earning points and satelliting into larger poker online events. To become an “exclusive member” a player pays $20 a month. If you do not play, you cannot participate in most of the tournaments. You can play for prizes like cruises, entries into big tournaments in real casinos (like Bellagio) or daily cash prize tournaments; the entries to these tournaments are point based, so if you have earn a lot of points, you can buy directly into the big games and skip the 1st tier of satellites. However, the biggest weekly and monthly prizepool tournaments require a token for entry, not points. So, you have to earn a token by playing in specific tournaments or sit and go’s to qualify for these big games.

For the past 2 weeks in a row I have qualified for the weekly $5k tournaments by earning a blue token. I did it both times by playing multi-table tournaments (MTT’s). These usually have around 100-150 players and the final table (9 players) are awarded a token as some points. The sit and go’s are a bit harder because they are winner take all. So, the percentage is still about the same, 1 in 9, or 9 of 100, but the sit and go’s are much more cut-throat. They also have 2-table sit and go’s for a smaller point buy in, but still a winner take all format.

Inspector Gadget and Fun

February 24th, 2009

You know that when you are growing up and going to school it can be quite a lot of stress. You have all of this homework and studies to do, and then you have the teachers to deal with and all of the other people in your class. You usually have about three or so friends that you are really close with, other than that you are on your own. To get away and escape from the reality of school and what was described above you turn on Inspector Gadget. Everyone loves a mystery and most of the time mysteries are serious and not fun, but not with Inspector Gadget. He is just so much fun. He just does stuff and it works out, but because of the little helpers that he has, Penny and Brain. They are the ones in the background solving the cases and getting everything to turn out for the best. Dr. Claw and the M.A.D. Cat are not able to get anywhere because Penny and Brain are able to figure things out fast. I still watch this show, mainly in the morning after taking my acceletrim diet pills and walking on my treadmill, it makes the exercise a whole lot more fun and brings back some of the best childhood memories. I like the show so much that I named my dog Brain, and when people come over and do not know about the cartoon, they think that I am strange.

Know when to Hold on Video Poker

January 12th, 2009

If you are reading this article, it means that you already know a thing or two about video poker. You probably know where to find a game, the basics behind play, and how to make sure that you are playing on a full pay table. But, even the most advanced video poker players sometimes run into trouble knowing when to hold cards and when discard.

Most video poker machines will make suggestions about what cards you should keep, and that is exactly the trouble. Most players are distrustful of this; after all, the casinos are out to make money. Why would they give you tips that would let you win? Well, you don’t have to worry anymore; the tips offered on machines are generally good advice. The casino wants you to win every so often, that is what keeps their customers coming back. No one would ever go to the casino if they knew they were going to lose everything. Something to remember is that the casino only wins a small percentage of everyone’s money. By taking a little bit from everyone, they end up with a lot in the long run. They need customers to fill their seats. They need happy, satisfied poker players like you. So go ahead and follow their tips, it might improve your play overall.

Fantastic laptops to be won at European windeprijsvraag.nl this year

October 19th, 2008

Online sweepstakes are also legally differently from the funny online contests in Jacksonville Florida. Lots of more fun websites are choosing to enter online sweepstakes. Thats marvelous to win wakeboards worth 9123 euro and that easy. Easy sweepstakes and promotions are forbidden from demanding a purchase to enter. Entering internet sweepstakes by mail is turning down in online popularity at this moment.

Online actions advertised as contest websites, nonetheless, can ask an entry fee or certificate of bribe. Cyber sweepstakes are in the main much more leisurely and much more quicker to enter than online game contests. Really everybody can win super cash prizes now every 4 weeks even if you live in Danville California Davenport Iowa or in Overland Park Kansas, isn’t that fantastic. Online contests are toughened much more different than the winners who are not chosen by run of risk but by an element of difficult skill. 9 hours ago also a European dutch online company took of a fun website and is also legally absolutely different. That’s why there are absolutely fantastic Hummers to be won at online game contest and easy sweepstakes this week.

Thanksgiving Turkey Tips

October 16th, 2008

Besides, Halloween, Thanksgiving is probably the scariest of holidays! Cooking a turkey can be really scary! Maybe it’s the huge size of the turkey or the expectations of having to cook a great meal for lots of friends and family. It doesn’t have to be so scary. The cooking can be done if you follow some pointers that are listed and featured below. Think about it, this Thanksgiving tradition has been around for many, many years. If it were really so difficult to roast a turkey, the tradition would not have lasted so long.

Here are some tips for you when cooking this year’s Thanksgiving turkey:

1. Don’t get too ahead of yourself and attempt to deep fry a turkey. Even though these taste great and are really trendy and popular, it’s also a very dangerous undertaking and can be disastrous unless you’re positive you know what you’re doing.

2. Cook a turkey that is fresh. Do not even think of buying a frozen turkey. A frozen turkey can take a very long time to defrost, days even! And surely won’t cook as well as a good, fresh turkey.

3. Cover the turkey with a marinade or with melted butter on the surface of the turkey to achieve a beautiful golden brown color when it is cooked. It will make your turkey look great and taste great too!

A Poker Game a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

July 24th, 2008

Maybe it was an apple, but I guess the idea behind is that doing something you really enjoy is ultimately good for you (although in moderation, as my mom would say). I’m not quite sure how we got to associate apples and Texas Holdem poker games, but I can say that we are not the first ones (and probably not the last ones either). After all, what could be better than food and leisure?

BBC has a whole television show on Food Poker, literally combining the arts of the kitchen with the skills of poker. The program shows two chefs who after receiving two food cards and picking 3 ingredients from 5 additional ingredients’ cards on the table, decide to either “fold” (if they think they won’t be able to prepare anything of culinary value with the available ingredients) or “pitch” their dishes to a panel of judges. .. Things you didn’t know about the Brits!

Then of course there are the Americans who have a poker menu… yes really, they do. Just like Thanksgiving is all about the Turkey, Super Bowl Sunday about finger-licking snack food, and the 4th of July is THE barbeque event of the year, poker nights have their own recipes.

And they have strict rules too, believe me! So if you are a big potato chip eater like I am, watch out: greasy fingers at the poker table apparently are a real no-no!
